What is an acrylic diamond painting?

It is similar to cross stitch embroidery and also paint by numbers pictures where anyone can make a fantastic picture themselves. You take a picture and divide it into a square pattern, which is printed on canvas. You place a design of small diamonds on top of the grid pattern, you can make a fantastic picture.

The idea of diamond painting (similar to cross stitch) is to be an artist while doing something creative and satisfying in your free time. Whether you are a beginner in the craft or a seasoned professional, if you like to take pictures, you can turn them into your own works of art.

Making each new painting is a hobby for relaxation. Acrylic diamond paintings look very beautiful when hung on the wall.

The full pattern designs popular in cross stitch, embroidery and paint by number concepts certainly inspired the development of diamond painting.

Each square contains a symbol (as in cross stitch), a letter or a number that is assigned to a specific DMC cross stitch embroidery color.

With the help of a color chart, you can find out which DMC cross stitch code goes with which color diamond. The color chart is usually printed on the border of the artwork in the area surrounding the diamond painting. Conveniently, it also includes a custom printed sheet for the craft. It displays a small image and a large chart with symbols and the corresponding DMC number.

Each package of acrylic diamonds has a DMC number. They are very easy to read/identify. Just check your chart.

You don't need glue to attach acrylic diamonds to the canvas, as each diamond you place on the canvas goes onto a surface that is already coated with glue. You should not need any additional diamonds, as our kit includes all the acrylic diamonds with enough spare to complete the project.

Where did acrylic diamond paintings come from?

The idea of diamond painting seems to have originated in Asia, but the activity quickly spread to Europe and is a fairly popular craft in Russia. It is still a fairly new type of craft. In other parts of the world, diamond painting may be called diamond art, diamond painting, mosaic art, diamond stitching or diamond embroidery.

When you purchase a diamond painting kit, everything is included in the kit, a diamond painting art pen, a comfort grip, a white tray with a funnel, pink pencil wax, storage bags and free tweezers.

Our easy-to-install acrylic diamonds have 80 percent more sparkle than traditional regular acrylic diamonds and are made of high-quality acrylic material. Round or square, the bottom of each diamond is flat to ensure it stays firmly in place when "painting."

The diamond pen included in the kit comes with a comfortable handle. The pen is used to pick up the acrylic diamonds and paint on the symbol corresponding to the various tips. To pick up an acrylic diamond with the diamond pen, you must first press the tip of the pen into the wax, which is just sticky enough to hold the diamond when you place it on the canvas.

The white base that comes with each new kit is used to hold and separate the diamonds while painting. The tiny ridges on the bottom of the base help to turn the diamonds over when you gently shake the base, and guide the diamonds into the rows on the base. This makes painting easier and faster. The funnel at the end of the stand is perfect for pouring excess diamonds into a new storage bag or container.

Other tools can also be purchased for diamond painters, including storage containers, multi-position plates, light boards to place under the picture, magnifying glasses, and rollers. They are used to make this new hobby easier and more convenient. For example, a multi-diamond holder collects several diamonds at once. This allows you to quickly paint large areas of a specific color while keeping the diamonds in a straight line.

There are always new types of diamond painting storage containers available. They are useful when completing a large diamond painting. Many crafters prefer to paint in sections, which means using multiple colors at once. An acrylic diamond storage container allows you to keep your diamonds compact and organized.

It is important to remember and label which color diamonds are in which storage container. So don't forget the labels. Diamond painting is easy when your diamonds are organized.

When I complete each new section of my diamond painting, I use a roller to secure and level all the diamonds. This helps me when moving or framing the canvas to make sure the diamonds don't fall off the canvas and are properly attached.

Lightboards and magnifying glasses are also great tools for painting. A bright lightboard helps to make symbols in darker areas of the painting clearer, and magnifying glasses help to make the symbols look larger when placing acrylic diamonds.
